LS: You've been super busy during show seasons! Which houses did you create looks for this SS10 and AW10, and which show was most fun to work on?
JM: I worked on 18 shows in London and Paris this season and around the same in London and Milan last season. I usually average 9-10 in each city. My shows for SS/10 included Missoni, DSquared, Alberta Ferretti, Westwood Red Label, Moschino Cheap and Chic, and Blumarine.

I always enjoy the DSquared show as the atmosphere is really vibey backstage. Dan and Dean always put on a fun show with lots of energy so the girls are totally up for walking the runway with loads of attitude.

LS: Out of all of the looks you created for the shows which was your favourite and why?
JM: SS is always a softer season and the looks tend to be prettier. I loved working on the Pringle show keyed by Charlotte Tilbury. The look was tonal with Sepia contours and lots of highlight and a full brow. It's classic show makeup which always makes the girls look really healthy and expensive.

I also loved Val Garlands take on eyeliner from the film 'A Single Man' for the Giambattista Valli show. We elongated the girls eyes with a brown cream liner then edged it in black. It was a makeup that made you think as the angles had to be right and as most of the girls arrived late the pressure was on to turn out perfect makeup first time.

LS: Which catwalk look do you think will be most popular for Summer?
JM: I think most of the summer makeup was really wearable. We mostly concentrated on creating great looking skin with a little pop of colour. The Blumarine girls looked fresh and glowing with a hint of a stain to the lips, any girl would look perfect in that look.

LS: What are your top 5 make-up must-haves?
JM: My must haves change almost daily depending on the type of work I'm doing. When I'm working at the shows these 5 things are my favourites:
1. Bio Derma Crealine makeup remover - it's so gentle.
2. Shu Umuera lash curlers
3. MAC Mineralize skin finish powder in light - it's a real life saver when you want to brighten under the eyes and still look natural.
4. MAC Mink brow set - there were so many bleached brows at the shows and this product replaced the colour but looked really natural.
5. Laura Mercier concealer - it took me a while to get used to the dry formula but once you get the hang of it I find it covers blemishes but looks invisible.

LS: Are there are any particular products that are always used backstage that are artist favourites?
JM: You tend to see most backstage artists with at least 3 of the above items and they are really trusted by models especially when their skin is sensitive after a busy show season.

LS: What is your prediction for the biggest beauty trend for the upcoming AW season?
JM: For the upcoming season I think every girl should invest in a good creamy brown multi use product. This will see you through AW and as it's creamy it can be sheered down for the day time or you can add black kohl liner for a smokey eye look. I like the derma colour creams from Charles fox, there's a huge choice of shades to choose from.
