hey sweet cheeks!

Get creative with faux freckles and chic neutral tones.

Emulate fresh-faced youthfulness and embrace sun-tanned skin with this season’s beauty trend synonymous with summer – freckles.Flawless natural-looking skin with shimmering highlights offset smoldering eyes, whilst nails are high shine and add soft colour in saccharine ice-cream shades.
Bare-faced beauty was back in abundance on the SS12 catwalks. Designers from Emanuel Ungaro to DSquared2 showed embellished sun-kissed skin with a smattering of freckles, whilst models at Jeremy Scott rocked a retro “Daisy Duke goes to Paradise City” look courtesy of cutesy faux flecks across the cheeks designed by make-up guru Val Garland.
An essential for near-to-naked summer skin is a high SPF. Protect your face with a skincare product of at least Factor 30 prior to applying a sheer foundation base. MAC Face and Body gives a radiant glow and translucent veil of colour – buff into the skin and set with Mineralize Powder to control any unwanted shine for a second-skin texture. Sculpt your way to chiseled cheekbones with MAC Shaping Powder in ‘Bone Beige,’ before highlighting with Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow for a delicate sheen. For the ultimate on-trend update use Illamasqua Precision Ink Eyeliner in ‘Glister’ to add in faux freckles in varying shapes and sizes across the nose and cheeks.
Beautifully burnished metallic shades perfectly complement a tanned complexion for a sexy summer look accentuating the eyes. Contour with MAC Cream Colour Base in ‘Mid Tone Sepia’ over neutral eye shadows ‘Ochre Style’ and ‘Cork,’ and intensify the inner-corner of the eye with a highlight using MAC pigment in ‘Blondes Gold.’ For depth and definition add liner along the waterline – MAC ‘Teddy’ pencil eyeliner is the perfect bronze shade. Finish this fresh take on subtle summer smokiness with voluminous lashes using YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara before brushing through brows.
For the final touch, lips need to be looking soft and smooth – ensure skin is prepped for products with a gentle exfoliator, Lush Cosmetics ‘Sweet Lips’ sugar scrub is good enough to eat! A slick of MAC Dazzleglass in ‘Bare Necessity’ adds sparkling shine to complete this super sweet beauty look.
